This project was started in 2007 to help families at the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Cook Children's Medical Center in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Due to the financial strain on these families, they are not able to provide Christmas for their children.  These families are identified by the hospital.  A wish list and a needs list for each child is provided by a parent.  Clothing sizes are included in this list.  We provide 5 gifts for each patient and each sibling - usually 3 needs and 2 wishes.  We purchase the gifts, wrap the presents, and deliver them to the Child Life Specialists at the hospital.  Families are then notified to pick up the gift bags at the hospital.
In 2013, we were also able to provide the families with food bags to help them through the holidays.  With the help of schools and community groups we were able to distribute 150 food bags to the hospital.  We hope to continue this part of the project in the years ahead.
